Logo

Hello my St George Onion Heads!

As mentioned (FOREVER AGO), we were working on our logo with the fabulous Alesha Sevy as our graphic designer. She did an AH-MAZING job! Our logo is pretty rad, if we do say so ourselves. We also had her put together a template for a frequent eater punch card, and some business cards!

We are about 80% done with our business plan. It's amazing how much time one of those takes ;) We currently have quotes out for a food trailer from a few manufacturers! We've also lined up our purveyor for the majority of our products. Our sales rep is putting together a product list with costs and also letting us know what we can get local. Our main goal is to get AS MUCH of our ingredients from local sources so it will be nice to see what he has in store for us!

Our menu is complete and sounds delightful. I look forward to posting all of the details of the menu- but all in due time. If you follow us on facebook (which we hope that you will), you may have noticed that we have been asking a lot of survey questions the past few days. We are 110% committed to keeping this a local adventure, and we really do value feedback from those in the community- after all, this is going to be a business by the people, for the people (of St George) :)

So, above is the LOGO! leave a comment and let us know what you think!! Until next time, we bid you g'day!

Much Love

6/5/2011

As we mentioned last week, we had a couple meetings this past Tuesday. Both went really well and we gained a lot of valuable knowledge.

Our Graphic Designer is currently working on our LOGO as well as some business cards and punch card ideas! We can't wait to see what she comes up with!

Our other meeting with SCORE was incredibly helpful. Now we are in the process of looking for a good CPA and an Attorney.

Anyone have some suggestions??

On a side note, we are thinking about the possibility of running this as a catering/mobile food vehicle before the actual restaurant to drive up business and get our name out there. We also this it will help with our initial investment.

What do you think about a food truck rolling around St. George providing foods such as Sandwiches, Soups, Salads, and Pastas? *Think 'non-greasy, healthy options'*

Update

Looks like we will be busy! We have a couple business meetings set up for this coming week.

We are meeting with a local graphic designer to go over things such as our logo, business cards, punch cards, website and so on!

We will also be meeting with SCORE. They are a local small business assistance group that can help with all sorts of things for start up businesses. We have attended their classes at the Dixie Business Alliance center (on 100 S. right by the Dixie College store). They are an amazing group and anyone interested in starting their own business should certainly get in touch with these guys (and girls.)

Hopefully we will have a bit more news after our business meetings!

Until next time...

HELLO St George!

Well hello fine folks of St George {and surrounding areas}. As of last Thursday, we have officially registered our business name with the great state of Utah and are going through the motions to get our proper financing in order to set up shop.

Our ultimate goal is to be a locally based cafe that supports our local community by purchasing from local purveyors and farms whenever possible- and keeping sustainability a priority. We want our customers health to be of concern. We will strive to not use any sort of hydrogenated oils or pesky hormone-ridden protiens. The protiens will be lean and part of an overall nutritious lifestyle! We want this cafe to be as apart of Utah as Utah is apart of us!

A little factoid- the Utah state vegetable is the Onion. And alas, that is how we came upon our name. From humble beginnings came the state of Utah as well as our idea for this cafe. It seemed only fitting that our name be Humble Onion Cafe.

We have set up some contact information for anyone curious about who we are and what we plan to do in the future. You can email us at: humbleonioncafe@live.com. Also, we have a facebook page so look us up! Everything is still in the beginning stages, so our apologies while we get up and running. Please don't hesitate to contact us- about anything! Questions & Suggestions are welcomed!

Thanks!
